This position is responsible for coordinating manufacturing processes in an industrial plant by performing the following duties: Responsible for working within the aftermarket engineering group. Will aid in the development of the repair processes, and ensure FAA, EASA, CAAC and customer compliances. Perform visual and dimensional checks on materials, assemblies, tube details, and components. Inspect and test components, parts, tube details, and assemblies to validate conformance to blue prints, engine manuals and instructions by customer, and to company operating procedures.

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Must be knowledgeable in the requirements of the various regulatory agencies with respect to repair and overhaul
  • Aids in evaluating and improving manufacturing methods as required.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
  • Performs janitorial and cleaning duties to maintain clean and orderly equipment and shop.
  • Have excellent typing and computer skills. Ability to stay on task.
  • Consistently, regularly and dependably at work and on time.

Education, Certifications, Licenses & Registrations

High School diploma or equivalent GED; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

STS Aerospace in Laconia, NH is searching for an NDT – FPI & X-Ray to join the team. We fabricate precision welded and brazed tube assemblies for some of the largest aerospace companies in the world including Northrop Grumman, United Technologies, Rolls Royce and Lockheed Martin.

Scope of Responsibilities

This position is responsible for the production and interpretation of radiographic images of tube assemblies or castings, for dimensional inspection, flaw detection, or presence of foreign material.

  • Able to accurately reads and follow X-ray film or digital techniques to produce quality images
  • Adjusts controls of Liquid Penetrant machines /equipment on console to inspect and certify parts or assemblies.
  • Follows set radiation safety procedures for personnel and area monitoring
  • Performs system checks as required
  • Is able to pass certification requirements to NAS-410 and Titeflex procedures
  • Required to follow procedures in the techniques for which certified
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

This position involves performing visual and dimensional checks on materials, assemblies, tube details, components and finished goods to validate conformance to blueprints and instructions by customers, and to company operating procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Measures angular dimensions, radii, contours, clearances, threads, wall thickness, and other characteristics as stipulated on the inspection plan
  • Tests units for fit of moving parts (i.e nuts and sleeves)
  • Verifies gauges and measuring instruments for conformance to calibration intervals
  • Understands engineering drawings and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality requirements
  • Inspects product at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, mechanical, electrical, or coatings (visual)
  • Identifies and reports changes to existing quality or production procedures to achieve optimum quality
  • Validates conformance or identifies non-conformances and reports findings to engineering and management

This position involves the fabrication of metal tubing both rigid and flexible, for a multitude of operations, by cutting, grinding, forming, de-burring, cleaning, swaging, and polishing according to specifications, for use in hydraulic fuel, pneumatic, waste and exhaust installations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs visual and dimensional checks on materials, assemblies, tube details, components and finished products.
  • Plans, lay out, fabricate, assembles, install, salvage parts from assemblies and repair rigid and/or flexible tube assemblies, fixtures, equipment, and products by performing the following duties.
  • Perform various functions by hand and utilizes hand tools to prepare hose for assembly including removing rubber to buff back ends for fittings, connect fittings to hose, apply RTV, and other assembly preparations
  • Sets up and operates abrasive, squaring, deburring, and sizing equipment such as swager or crimper.
  • Lifts, positions, and removes work pieces from machines.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, method sheets, process sheets, policies and procedures to manufacture a variety of rigid and flexible metal tubes.
  • Measures angular dimensions, radii, contours, clearances, thread lead, wall thickness, and other specifications. Performs a variety of quality tests per procedures.
  • Holds tape and rods and marks reference points to assist in layout.
  • Loads, stacks, and transports stock, tools, dies, and work in process.
  • Attaches clamps to position work piece to be cut.
  • Cleans and blows out dust, particles, and metal shavings from work piece prior to fabricating, welding, painting, or shipping.

  • Supports failure analysis using analytical and statistical tools.
